Patrol Boat Whaler -- Engine The Whaler (newer patrol boat) engine continues to have reliability problems. On Saturday, May 18, after installing a new battery, it stalled after we drove away from the dock. Then it ran for about two hours and stalled when we put it at idle speed or neutral. It re-started a few times, then it died completely. Restarted again after 20 minutes. Then died again. We switched to a zodiac. After another long rest (towed back to club) it started again and ran OK for a while. Similar report from Sunday, May 19, race patrol. It seems to run for a while, then becomes unreliable, then dies completely. With enough rest the cycle starts all over again. The symptoms (run for a while, run intermittently, die) are similar to what we've experienced every season since we got the boat! The motor has been replaced and is running well Resolved Monday, May 19, 2014 - 07:34 Thursday, May 7, 2015 - 11:31
