Justin Coplan who surprised the veteran Lightning sailors at the Monmouth Boat Club in 2008 when he won the Lightning Metropolitan District Championship, showed it wasn’t a fluke June 19-20 in winning the title again.Coplan, 22, a programmer at Columbia University’s earth research institute,also won the 2009 event on his home waters at the Nyack Boat Club.
The Helen Hayes Hospital Adapted Sports and Recreation program, in conjunction with the Nyack Boat Club, will be hosting their fifth annual Adapted Sailing program this May. The program offers individuals with physical disabilities the opportunity to learn to sail using adaptive equipment. Experienced sailors from the Club’s Sonar Fleet 23, along with therapists from the physical rehabilitation hospital, will provide an introductory skills workshop and an afternoon of sailing on the Hudson River. The event takes place beginning May 6 and concludes with the Regatta on May 15. Pre-registration is required.

Feb. 13 - 14th Launch Operator's Course at the Club from 9am - 6pm. Test will be given on that Sun. The Cost for Club Members for the Course will be $100.
If you drive the Club Launch for Season 2010 and complete 40 hours of driving, then your fee will be reimbursed in Full. Priority will be given to Club Members and their immediate family. Get your check in now because if the Course isn't full by Jan. 24th a notice will be sent out to other Clubs.
