HOT HOT HOT!

After a brief postponement, 5 Lightnings headed out to race in a light northeasterly breeze and a flooding tide.   We were joined by Ian Russell and Tristan Jackson who were both able to get their boats rigged and turn out for some very competitive racing on a day when the thermometer read in the 90s.

Two races were held.   The first was an L1 that started in the light northeasterly and ended up with the top three finishers finishing at the leeward mark, on a shortened course, within seconds of each other.   Race #1 went to Tristan, with crew Daniel Zitin.     A seabreeze came in from the south and PRO Bill Cook called for an L2.   Several lead changes ensued, especially downwind, with everyone struggling to keep the chutes flying.   In the end, Mauvais Garcon crossed the line first, followed by Lucky Dog and Cool (this time skippered by Daniel).   Top 3 boats had 4 points each!    And then the seabreeze came in with 10-15 knots at 4:50 just as we returned to the dock.   At least the breeze made things a bit cooler…
